is set to ignore-spm-downgrades = enable

I have
Code: Select all
ignore-spm-downgrades = enable
in /etc/entropy/client.conf
I reinstalled kernel 3.4 & uninstalled 3.5, all with kernel switcher, rebooted in between & now I get this:
Code: Select all
# equo rescue spmsync --ask>>  Scanning Source Package Manager and Entropy databases for differences...
>>  @@ Someone removed these packages. They would be removed from the system database:
>>     # app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-4.1.18#3.4.0-sabayon
>>   Continue with removal ? [Yes/No] n

It's installed:

Code: Select all
# equo search app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-4.1.18#3.4.0-sabayon
>>  @@ Searching...
>>      @@ Package: app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-4.1.18#3.4.0-sabayon branch: 5, [sabayon-weekly]

Third part modules can't work with different kernel versions except for ATI/Nvidia (thanks to ati-userspace and nvidia-userspace)

if you are working with kernel:3.5 , install VB-modules:3.5 and remove 3.4
if you are working with kernel:3.4 , install VB-modules:3.4 amd remove 3.5

Hi, thanks for replying. I only have v3.4 kernel and the v3.4 modules installed, kernel switcher removed the v3.5 modules when I uninstalled the kernel.

Lxnay has come up with a fix.
All you have to do, as root, is just enter in a terminal:
Code: Select all
for d in /var/db/pkg/*/*; do touch "${d}"; done

Hi, thanks for the fix & to Lxnay. After doing the fix, it still wanted to remove the v3.4 modules even though v3.4 is the only kernel installed.
I removed the modules & uninstalled virtualbox & the modules, restarted, reinstalled virtualbox with no deps & modules with the uname-r option as described in the wiki.
All works ok now, databases are synced.
Thanks again.

well, all you just had to do is combine "equo rescue spmsync" with the "--ask" flag.,
and say NO to the removal part....
it's advised to use the "--ask" flag anyway......
