#equo rescue backup [Solved]

Postby cl00t » Sun Aug 12, 2012 11:22

Not sure if I have understand this command properly:

Code: Select all
#equo rescue backup

If someone had to reinstall SL for any reason, is there a way to backup a list of installed packages? Then, after installing from fresh, restore the list, run equo & have it download the packages in the list which are missing?

Not sure if that would even be possible or safe to do as it would possibly install a different kernel but not through kernel-switcher.

Yes. seem "man equo" or "equo --help"

[2] backup
backup the current Entropy installed packages database

Backup will be saved in /var/lib/entropy/client/database/<arch> /entropy_backup___system__###.backup.bz2

You can copy this file to other media (USB-Disk/Pendrive or others) if you want to use it for a new installation (or an existing one)
Keep in mind : copy the backup in /var/lib/entropy/client/database/<arch> to the new fresh installation

Restore :
Code: Select all
# equo restore

and choose wich backup you want to restore

then
Code: Select all
# equo upgrade --replay && equo deptest && equo libtest

cheers
