I've just done a fresh install of Sab 9 KDE and it all went swimmingly. I then did the updates on Rigo. I left it doing that overnight. In the morning everything still seemed to work. I opened a program under wine - that all worked. Went on-line - that all worked. So I switched off. Later I turned on again and it wouldn't boot. That is it "boots" (says so at the bottom of the screen) but won't take me onto a login screen. All I get is a blank screen (that is the sab9 colours are still there but nothing else) and a flashing cursor.
The small amount of time I got to play with the system (before updating) the system seemed as fast as anything. So I really want to get this to work.
I've got a seperate Home partition which I daresay has a load of .hidden folders in it. Could it be that something there is messing everything up. I don't know - maybe old .wine or kde stuff from my last distro (mint 12 kde)?
This is my first try at Sabayon (or anything Gentoo'ish) so I'm not up to speed on using Rigo yet.
Anybody got an idea? Do I really have to boot a live CD, chroot it, and start dicking around with some obscure Config file? I hope not.
