su "permission denied"

Hi to all!!! When I use su command, even if I set correct password, it didn't give me access but write "permission denied", how can I fix it?

hmmm, can you sudo su? than use the command passwd to reset the root password?

Also moving this to a better forum instead of Software forum

I answer after many days cause holidays... If you can move you to a better forum please, I don't know where...

I can use sudo passwd, I access root account, I change root password, but still I can't access directly via su... I remember that I write wrong password many times, cause darkness in my room, it is a thing that relates?

as wolfden wrote , try :

$ sudo su

not "sudo passwd"

and reset the root passwd with a new passwd

or you can try to restore the password using the chroot way
1. boot a live distro
2. mount the root partition
3. cd to the mounted root partition
4. #chroot /bin/bash
5. #passwd
