Issues Installing Sabayon 9 - Hitting xterm Instead Of GUI

I'm facing trouble installing sabayon 9 Gnome...
i donno what i should do at all, it all new for me , i have 2 different problem :
1 - when i choose start sabayon 9 , It goes to a blank screen and then nothing else happens...
2 - when i start install graphically, it boots and then reaches to 3 termianls of xterm and then nothing.

if u have faced the same problem please let me know...TNX

And I'm Installing It On a vmWare Virtual Machine, Just Wanted to let u Know...

Hi, welcome to the Sabayon Linux forums.

I don't know why it is happening, I guess it's some issue with VMWare or a bad burn, anyway it is perfectly normal that if you use startx to run the graphical session it will default to a minimal session with xterm (unless you configure it otherwise).
you should use gnome-session to run the GNOME session.
You could also try to start GDM by running:

/etc/init.d/xdm start


If some of them fails you can check the logs to see for useful informations, usually those are located into:
/var/log/Xorg.0.log

tnx for replying, so i should enter these commands in xterm terminal after the boot procedure is completed...?

And which one should i choose, Start Sabayon Gnome 9 or Graphical Installation?
i thought it would act like backtrack or others, it should bring up a guest user so i can hang around things and then decide to install it's causing various issues, which I've never seen before....

No, they are supposed to be run instead of startx, and those are exclusive:
either you try to run gnome-session, without invoking any login manager, or you try to run GDM, using /etc/init.d/xdm start.

About the issues, those are not supposed to happen, it should just start a graphical live environment (depending on the version you have chosen it could be text based, but GNOME version should definitely have a GUI).
I assume there is either a problem with the VM or the ISO file you downloaded is corrupted, have you tried checking the iso MD5 sum?
