Sabayon installation

Postby pherynk » Mon Jul 16, 2012 20:15

I cannot use my installed Sabayon 9 due to missing nvidia driver and login screen. Can anybody tell me how long is the situation? Is any solution?

What have you done to fix the problem?

To the best of my knowledge, this is not a wide spread problem and can be fixed immediately.

I suggest dropping down to a terminal, upgrading/installing the nvidia driver via equo, and checking via eselect to make sure it has been selected for opengl.

If you aren't quite sure how to do this, message back with your questions.

I went back to a terminal and tried to install nvidia driver. Answer was no nvidia available. I recommend you to read notice in rigo installator about missing nvidia driver.

Just a helpful hint. If you can show me exactly what you did and the response you got (copy and paste from terminal) I can see what's happening better.

What happens when you do an equo update? Does that at least work?

I sent it. No working. equo upgrade as well. The only way is to install nvidia driver or to install sabayon 8.
