Doing so I cannot play ANY sound!
I think it's a too drastic workaround :D

Sounds (ouch!) like you might have something messed up in your installation? Have you tried the following yet?:

Code: Select all
equo deptest
equo libtest
equo udate
equo upgrade
equo conf update

The only other suggestion I have would be to download the Linux driver 5.17rc5 from the Realtek site and try that. The latest version was uploaded on 29 June 2012, so is probably more recent than the driver you're using:

Well, yes this could be the (let's say) easy solution... but honestly I can't understand that a sabayon 9 installed by upgrading (rolling since version 5 or 6) could be different from a fresh installed sabayon 9 on the same machine... I hate these unexplainable things! :(

anyway...i'll try and post the results here

well...could you believe that it seems to have been misteriously solved by itself??
wow...
my laptop is on since this morning and not a single scratch or noise until now!!!
probably the "kill pulseaudio/alsa only/reactivate pulseaudio-thing" has resetted something...what can I say? thank you :D
(i'll add "solved" if it stays like this even on next reboots).

Thanks

Hei again!
I think I found out what the problem is caused by!
I said before that the problem has kinda self-solved. Well...the truth was that the scratch/noise volume was very low and so it seemed to be solved, but still it was audible with headphones!
i checked out EVERY setting in alsamixer and pavucontrol...and i noticed that the noise went off whenever i muted the microphone!
So now the problem seems to be caused by the microphone!...but I don't know why this influences the speakers...
any hint now that we're norrowed down the causes?

thanks
