Gnome-tweak-tool advanced settings

Postby jhoni » Wed Jul 11, 2012 21:52

Hi, I'm using gnome version 3.4.2 (latest sabayon 9 stable) and it seems that advanced settings doesn't works, for example: I set my settings to show minimize and close buttons (on the titlebar) but even after restart it's not working...
I've noticed that advanced settings is version 3.2.2-r2 (also the latest version in the repository). so perhaps this is the reason why it's not working properly?
if it is so then maybe can you tell me when will it be upgraded? or make sure that it does...

tnx for replying

something is definitely busted. I lost toggle-shade when double clicking on title bar and focus-follows-mouse. gnome-tweak-tool seems to be ineffective, but when I brought up the configuration editor and looked under apps->metacity->general shows all the settings to jive with the tweak-tool.

now I'm a little confused. Is metacity the window manager or is mutter?

I tried re-installing gnome-tweak-tool and no difference.

I saw someone with Fedora was having the same problem.

I gave up on Gnome-3.
Moved on to Fluxbox,
then to Enlightenment,
because I like the eye candy.

I still like Gnome even though the windows title bar isn't working correctly (minimize & close buttons) or the print screen button doesn't seem to respond.
the whole idea behind it is to my likings (design and usability), and I hope someone would fix the bugs ASAP... :-{

I don't see anyone else posting about this problem except you and I, Jhoni,
which makes me think its not a common problem.

I was a big fan of Gnome-3, but I can't work without focus follows mouse.
I'm starting to enjoy Enlightenment more as I continue to use it in the
interim.
