Libre Office Writer [Solved]

Postby pepe999 » Mon Jun 18, 2012 11:43

Hi guys,
I have installed the latest Sabayon Gnome x64 and today found out that Writer freezes when I start typing a document. Has anyone problem like this? Thanks, pepe999

Hi users, we just discovered that in the default Sabayon 9
ISO images, LibreOffice is freezing for a few minutes
when starting a new document. The fix to this bug is easy,
just remove app-officeext/languagetool using either Rigo
or Equo.

The package is removed from the Repositories. Only fresh 9 installs have it. And a small update about the issue here: http://twitter.com/languagetoolorg/stat ... 3287565312

Hi,
Thanks for that. I have missed the Notice Board messages because I was focusing on the fresh install to get it fully operational ASAP and ignored it completely. Fixed it now..:)

If you want to use LanguageTool along with LibreOffice, you need to install Java 6 (1.6) and set up LibreOffice to use it instead of the default.
To do this, open LibreOffice and go to: Tools>Options>LibreOffice>Java and set a 1.6 version of JRE.

Edit: LO 3.5.4 works with LanguageTool and Java 7 OK again
