Annoying stuff [Solved]

Postby B3rtm3n » Sat Jun 16, 2012 6:09

I have some issues with Sabayon

1) numlock
Some Linux systems have num lock auto enabled up on boot. It is just a stupid thing but it are those little things which make the difference. How can I have num lock auto enabled like it is the case with openSUSE.

2) dvd
Too often my dvd keeps hanging and I can not eject
Have to go terminal and use su followed by
Code: Select all
eject /dev/sr0

What is this issue (have it with openSUSE too on 2 different pc)?

3) xkill
I am using KDE, ALT+F2 followed by xkill is not working on Sabayon. Why? Is there an alternative?

Hi,

For the Numlock:

If you are using KDE, then just go to the systemsettings and there you find input devices.
And for keyboard you can change the Numlock settings.

Regarding xkill, I have to ask the obvious question: Did you install xkill?

Regarding ejecting CDs/DVDs, it could be a bug in udev, which would explain why you experience the problem in other Linux distributions too. Which desktop environment are you using? If KDE, try: There's a simple workaround for this.
