Sabayon 9

Hi to everyone.

Install sabayon 9 but when I run Compiz shows me an error and everything is reset. Quero know whether or not to accept this version of Compiz, as other distros like Fedora 17 and can not run Compiz. I expected to stabilize this system or should forget about compiz?

Compiz is on its last legs and is masked in the main Portage tree. I'd forget about Compiz, especially if you're using KDE. If you know how to use Portage and overlays, you could try to install Compiz from the stuff overlay: see the note at the end of the article Moving Compiz to a local overlay in Gentoo. Otherwise, if you use KDE, stick with KWin's Desktop Effects (see the tips in the article Pimping my Desktop: have KWin Desktop Effects improved in KDE 4.6.2?).

I was checking this version of Sabayon, but I see very unstable, cairo dock very slow to load and do not know why it always appears the configuration window and some applications also delayed.
I do not know if this also occurred in version 8, I hope I can help with this please

i have compiz installed and running in all my 4 sabayon installations , and the efective working is confirmed (facebook) after the tests of joost ruis (in MATE)

in my systems, compiz works in LXDE, in XFCE and in MATE very good,
works less good in KDE, but works!

but if you try compiz in GNOME3, GNOME-Shell or Cinnamon, definitively it NOT WORKS
