Nautilus on Openbox

Postby chasha420 » Mon Jun 04, 2012 8:26

Hi guys, I really had a hard time getting nautilus to work with openbox...first of all whenever I ran nautilus...the desktop background would be aggressively taken over and the right click ability (menu) of Openbox would stop working.

Then I finally found a way to make nautilus less hostile by launching it with this flag:
Code: Select all
nautilus --no-desktop

But still the problem I face with nautilus are the icons...they appear with the default ugly icons & I have no clue how to change those @Openbox. I used lxappearance and selected faenza icons but still it has no effect on Nautilus but the icons work perfectly fine on other applications like Firefox, etc.

Anyway clue how to fix the icon problem?

Thanks

I donw't know if this help you but it is a pretty neat guide for configuring openbox (little old and for ubuntu, but that should be no problem)

Thanks for the guide Jomiel, actually I've used that as a reference when I first started setting up openbox and there's nothing there about fixing icons for nautilus.

The problem here is not related to starting nautilus but changing the default icons theme which I've changed through lxappearance and seems to be implemented in everything else other than nautilus.

Any help / suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
