system language changed [Solved]

Postby papilello » Mon Jun 04, 2012 19:44

Hi, I've XFCE installed on an Dell Inspiron 1100.
After the upgrade from Sabayon 8 to 9, my system language is changed from Italian to US English.
I try to go back to Italian in the login screen, but it is not possible to select "Italian" among the languages in the pull-down menu.
Moreover, after every command I digit in the terminal emulator I receive this message:

invalid filesystem encoding ANSI_X3.4-1968, must be UTF-8.
Make sure to set LC_ALL, LANG, LANGUAGE to valid UTF-8 values.
Please execute:
LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8 /usr/bin/equo libtest
Cannot automatically recover from this.

Can anybody tell me how to go back to Italian language?

Puoi aiutarmi sul primo step?

Set the LINGUAS variable in /etc/make.conf to the desired language

L'argomento di LINGUAS è un insieme di moltissime lingue, fra le quali c'è "it".
Come faccio ad impostarla come lingua preferita?

Check if you have got all the localisation settings configured correctly, by going through the Gentoo Linux Localization Guide (it uses German as the case study). See also the post : Re: en_GB language missing after install. (of course changing "uk" to "it" and "en_GB" to "it_IT") which might also be of help.
