Could font configuration be provided "out of the box" ?

I don't think that it's a real "bug", it's more a suggestion to make sabayon more attractive, pleasant to use and easy for my eyes! I personally think it would make a greater out-of-the-box experience.

I found a nice how-to which explains how to improve font rendering in gentoo, but I'm not very comfortable with mixing equo and emerge.

Any suggestion ?

The bugzilla is used for more than just filing bugs.

Go ahead and file it. If it's decided they don't want to pursue it, they'll mark it as invalid. But bugzilla what they'll use to keep track of things to get around to. If it's not there, it's likely to be forgotten about it.

Yes, I tried Infinality font patches and it worked like a charm. You can find the instructions to get it work here : http://www.infinality.net/forum/viewtop ... &t=77#p794

My fonts look way better now !

Someone has been faster than me! A bug report has already been opened to request Infinality Freetype Patches (https://bugs.sabayon.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3360).

Hope this see those packages in the repos soon
