Sensors do not work [Solved]

Postby limathebest » Wed May 16, 2012 16:33

I installed Xsensors, set up the sensors, but it seems that the sensors do not work. I have Debian installed on another partition, and there function normally, any idea?

Sorry for my bad English.

Some more info would be handy as stating do not work doesn't tell us a thing and nobody can guess from here. Since it's an interface, I have to assume you setup lm-sensor and done that procedure? Otherwise we need errors or something to at least go on.

Telling us what you installed it for might help too (conky, panel plugin, or something else).

Right!

When you run the command in console: xsensors, no error is reported

When you open Xsensors, it shows this:

Image

If I run the command: sensors, the following errors are reported

Code: Select all
No sensors found!
Make sure you loaded all the kernel drivers you need.
Try sensors-detect to Find out Which These are.

But since I ran the command sensors-detect. And answered all questions. Already restart the system and the error persists.

Any idea?

You need to actually start lm-sensors (as root):
Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/lm-sensors start

to make it start at boot:
Code: Select all
rc-update add lm-sensors

Great !!!!!!

Just a small correction, the commands that worked were:

Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/lm_sensors start

and

Code: Select all
rc-update add lm_sensors

Thanks to all for the effort, a big hug!
