Log analyser

Postby chasha420 » Sun May 13, 2012 11:47

Hi guys, I know a lot of people prefer just doing stuff like 'tail -100 /var/log/messages' but I'm looking for a good log analyser that can give me brief summary of everything related to the system...security incidents, etc.

I am fine with a cmdline based one but a GUI would be okay aswell.

Just recommend something that you think is co00l.

Thanks

I cannot remember well, but I knew a log analyser that was centralizing all the logs and let them accessible on your web page for example. No GUI tho.

But I am interested in this topic as I don't remember.
Beedbox is a self-hosting distribution project with a web interface to configure all the services to ease it access.

Interesting topic.
I did a try on graylog2 but it was cumbersome to setup.
I have seen also Logstash that could be interesting.
