kdeinit could not launch '/usr/bin/smb4k'

Postby msdobrescu » Sat May 12, 2012 8:42

I have this message every time I (successfully) open smb4k since a long time and I could not get rid of it:

Code: Select all
KDEInit could not launch '/usr/bin/smb4k'

I have tried several recipes found on the Internet, but none worked so far.
Any ideas?

Yhanks.

It would be better if you told us what you have tried so far, so that we don't waste time suggesting you try things that you have already tried.

Right, I've tried many, so I don't remember well. My mamory is like a salad, everything cut in small pieces.
Anyway, I have re-installed the KDE itself in hope the message will go away, but it didn't.
Everything seems to be in the right place.

So, I have no issues with this anymore when I launch it from the KDE menu.
This was solved by re-installing the KDE.
But, if I make a shortcut in a Quicklaunch Plasma widget, it still throws the error (I have added it by selecting it from the Quicklaunch command, using 'Add launcher').

What is the difference?
