Gnome 3 - Online Accounts seem broken

Postby sinayion » Mon Apr 23, 2012 5:12

Hi all,

I have successfully put my google account in the Online Accounts (top right corner), but I can see that it is not working. Empathy does not pick up the account, the "available" option in the top right menu will not toggle on, and the calendar is not pulled.

I am about to try a different distro (updated too) to see if this is an upstream bug; I have not found anyone with this issue yet, unless my searches are bad.

Many thanks for any help.

Same for me but I've never used this feature...so not quite sure on how to use it tho.

Ya...I don't see what's the point of having this feature when it doesn't work Lol. Also I don't understand the function of this feature....I mean does it simply interact with empathy to show a user as online on something like a gmail a/c? Anyway, I think if we wish to show ourselves online we can simply use empathy/pidgin directly lol...no need for intermediaries...I think they're trying to imitate Mac OS.

I can confirm that it currently works on the following distributions:
- Fedora 16
- openSUSE - Tumbleweed
