since yesterday, I think that the WLAN-Hardware switch or the card of my girlfriends Lenovo is defective.
The WLAN-LED is on, the hardware-switch is on. But the Network-Manager says that the WLAN is deactivated by hardware.
So I ran 2 tests. Test 1 with WLAN-Switch off:
- Code: Select all
sabayon nancy # iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
wlan0 IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID:off/any
Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=off
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Power Management:off
sabayon nancy # rfkill list
0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: yes
1: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: yes
2: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: yes
Than the 2nd test with WLAN-Switch on:
- Code: Select all
sabayon nancy # iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
wlan0 IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID:off/any
Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=off
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Power Management:off
sabayon nancy # rfkill unblock all
sabayon nancy # rfkill list
0: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
1: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
2: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
3: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes
What is wrong with the hardware?? Is it truely defective?
Is there another possibility to check the hardware.
Tanks in advance for tipps.
(It's a Lenovo Idea-Pad U350)
