File-Roller use flag [Solved]

Postby ph03 » Fri Apr 20, 2012 14:03

Could you please add the "nautilus" use flag to the app-arch/file-roller package in entropy such that nautilus has context menues for extraction and compression? I always have to compile it on my one for this feature.

Click on the link 'Bugs' at the top of this page and file a request, as that is the correct way to do it.

We've split it into a seperate package.

gnome-extra/nautilus-file-roller

Great, thanks a lot. I didn't know about that extra package. Next time I will fill a bug, sorry for that.

Why have you split it? Seems like a pretty basic function. ;-)

If you enable nautilus on file-roller in Gentoo, it will create a deptree and pull in half GNOME.
Imagine what happens if you just need file-roller on a minimal system (e.g. XFCE)

For us reason enough to make a separate package for this.
If you ever wondered why in Debian (Ubuntu)/Red Hat (Fedora) you see all these -common -gtk etc..etc.. packages, it is the exact reason why.
