Masking either yields (on equo upgrade):

Same problem here on desktop and laptop. Both with AMD 64 K and kept updated.

seem to have a work around, but functionality will be lost.

equo remove entropy-client-services

now you can do your update:

equo upgrade --ask

I will file a bug, considering that trying to re-install entropy-client-services after this looks to wanna downgrade back to rc97..

Just really a "me too". Masking sys-apps/entropy-1.0_rc97 then leads me to the point where nothing to do with upgrading entropy is available as all packages depend on that.
I have noticed that, since this problem, any command beginning "equo" comes up with "resources locked" and a countdown. A very short countdown but it's a little unsettling.

Your workaround is not a workaround and this is not a bug :)
Since that version of entropy, entropy-client-services has been replaced with rigo-daemon, which makes those versions of entropy uncompatible (thus conflicting). You can't have entropy-client-services installed with the latest versions of entropy-

This has worked for me but I thought that Entropy would have handled this itself.
