Syncing Documents Folder [Solved]

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a piece of software that automatically backups / synchronises /Home?Documents to another attached harddrive? (on a daily or weekly basis or something like that)
I am using Sabayon 8 K so i hope its a KDE package?

Yes, there is. See the link in my blog post My personal backup strategy. In fact, it's easy enough to set up automatic backup using the rsync strategy I explained in that post and simply kick it off using e.g. KAlarm in KDE or using a cronjob.

I've just added a note to my original blog post with a small improvement to the scipts (it only makes a difference if you have a lot of files to backup, and simply avoids the sudo timeout).

The GUI application KAlarm is a very handy utility; you can use it to run a lot of things automatically at pre-defined times or frequencies. I even use it as a talking clock (see Setting up a talking clock easily in Linux).
