Live DVD never loads up correctly

Postby iunthanaka » Tue Apr 17, 2012 15:03

Hello folks,

after installing and running Sabayon 8 Xfce on my main machine (a HP Pavilion dv5 laptop) I've been trying to install one or the other of its flavours (namely, Xfce, LXDE, KDE) on my Asus EEE 1101HA netbook too.
I was not successful. The Live USB stick I made with Unetbootin could not make it up to the desktop; I don't know why and I am at a loss.
Did anyone of you already encounter this issue?

Tonight I will make a last attempt using the Text Installer function.

Buld your sabayon ISO on usb-stick using "dd"

Check your usb-stick
Code: Select all
# fidsk -l

Make sure what device target is showed (Example : /dev/sdb)

Code: Select all
# dd if=<sabayon>.iso of=/dev/<your_usb_stick>

I spoke too soon. I don't know why, but even after installing my Sabayon DOES NOT COMPLETE ITS BOOT PROCESS BY COMING TO THE DESKTOP! :-(
