Pov-Ray and related install issues

Postby msdobrescu » Tue Mar 13, 2012 19:18

Hello,

I try to install povray. I have chosen povtree and kpovmodeler also.
Sabayon is up to date, there are several errors during the installation.
Here is the install log:

No it has to do with the SPM hook that is using an old kde eclass.
* Failed to determine KDEDIR

I'll have to revision bump this package.

You are awesome!

Additionally, if I try to run povray, it says:

Code: Select all
povray: cannot open the user configuration file /home/<my user>/.povray/3.7/povray.conf: No such file or directory

This shouldn't have to do with KDE, isn't it?

There are also a couple of errors:

Code: Select all
ls: cannot access /etc/povray: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access /etc/povray: No such file or directory

The directory is created during installation, though.

I'd try this:

Code: Select all
equo remove media-gfx/povray --nodeps --configfiles
rm -rf /etc/povray
equo install  media-gfx/povray

It looks the same.

Code: Select all
equo install  media-gfx/povray

I see there is some unusual voodoo in the povray ebuild:

Code: Select all
pkg_preinst() {
   # Copy the old config files if they are in the old location
   # but do not yet exist in the new location.
   # This way, they can be treated by CONFIG_PROTECT as normal.
   for conf_file in $(ls "${ED}/etc/${PN}"); do
      if [ ! -e "${EROOT}etc/${PN}/${conf_file}" ]; then
         for version_dir in $(ls "${EROOT}etc/${PN}" | grep "^[0-9]" | sort -rn); do
            if [ -e "${EROOT}etc/${PN}/${version_dir}/${conf_file}" ]; then
               mv "${EROOT}etc/${PN}/${version_dir}/${conf_file}" "${EROOT}etc/${PN}"
               elog "Note: ${conf_file} moved from ${EROOT}etc/povray/${version_dir}/ to ${EROOT}etc/povray/"
               break
            fi
         done
      fi
   done
}

I'll have a look.

Hi, any news?
I think it is the same version in the repos, isn't it?
