I'm trying to install Sabayon 8 in Virtualbox 4.1.8. I downloaded Sabayon_Linux_8_amd64_Kiso. The md5sum is correct. I've allotted 2 GB RAM memory and 10 GB to that virtual machine.
Loading the ISO file into Virtualbox, it opens to the normal menu. I click the first option, to open the live DVD version, which opens normally. I click the "Install" icon, the little cog bounces up and down a while, and then goes away. I also tried the "Graphical Install" option, but the resulting Fluxbox didn't seem to have any way of installing the system to hard drive.
All the instructions I've been able to locate assume I got past this point, but I haven't. I did try using the KPartition utility from the live DVD to make a 32 MB FAT32 partition, a 9.6 GB partition for boot, and a 600MB partition for swap, thinking it might not be opening the installer because it needed those partitions first, but the installer still refuses to open - and now I've wiped a perfectly good Sabayon 7 system from that VM. I'm not able to find a way to mark the 32 MB partition for BIOS; the KPartition utility doesn't seem to have this ability. Gparted apparently isn't available.
The Forum search wouldn't accept my search terms (various arrangements of 'install sabayon 8 live DVD') and poking around didn't reveal anything helpful, although I might have missed it.
Any help would be appreciated.
