Installed Fine BUT v. 8 64 bit Gnome Won't Boot

Postby dhinds » Tue Feb 14, 2012 1:23

After running the live DVD w/ no problems, v. 8 Gnome 64 bit Installed Fine [on a btrfs partition] BUT the OS Won't Boot!

On Gigabyte X58 Motherboard with an Intel i7, 16 Gb DDR3 RAM and a Gigabyte Graphics Card for a BenQ FP93GW monitor.

The Loading Kernel graphic appears but the little ball never goes away, the screen goes dark and Sabayon won't load.

I reinstalled but the same thing happens.

I also unplugged a USB2 flash memory (thumb drive) but that didn't help.

I had no problems with v. 6 (except the 14 Gb I gave the partition was too small). I gave this one twice as much but ...

Any suggestions?

"Preparing the system for boot, then the percentage loaded (which was well above 60%, before the screen went black, with the movable rotating ball for a cursor). I've let it run for quite a while but it hasn't finished loading, yet. I've also tried booting the maintenance version but get the same results".

And the browsers installed in version 6 aren't connecting to the Internet, which is why I booted to OpenSuse 11.4 - which the Sabayon 8 installation actually fixed.
