Hi guys,
for those who have an Optimus notebook, I have some good news: after a bit of work I was able to get the discrete card work like a charm by using Bumblebee. The power management also works, turning off the card when unused and improving the power usage of your system.
Here i wrote a small how-to. Hope it will be useful!

fresh install of Sabayon 8 amd64 Gentoo.
Running on ACER 4750g. Reports on the net says Bumblebee works 100% with the laptop model i have.
followed your guide.
when it came to
USE="static-libs pic" emerge libjpeg-turbo::sabayon
this is what came out:
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "libjpeg-turbo::sabayon"

an updated version of Bumblebee is out, which does not require to run this step any longer. I'm updating the guide.
