0 A.D not working

Postby chasha420 » Sun Jan 29, 2012 7:09

I've downloaded & installed 0 A.D from entropy & when I try to run it an error occcurs saying:
$ 0ad
./system/pyrogenesis: error while loading shared libraries: libcudart.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Let me know what can be done to fix this.

Thanks.

Not sure, as I don't have an NVIDIA GPU in my main laptop and I have not tried 0 A.D. either, but you could try installing the package nvidia-cuda-toolkit as it may contain the library libcudart.

Thanks Fitz....I don't have Nvidia either & I'm relying on integrated chip for light gaming...not sure if the game will run with these specs either but I'll give ur suggestions a try.

I've had a look at the ebuild in the Sabayon overlay that was used to build the Entropy binary you installed. I don't know why the ebuild wants to install CUDA libraries if the binary is built with USE="-nvtt" (i.e. NVIDIA Texture Tools deselected). ATI GPUs can't use NVIDIA CUDA. Anyway, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so you will find out whether or not it runs with your non-NVIDIA GPU very shortly.

Nah...the same error again after reinstalling nvidia-cuda-toolkit. I guess it needs a dedicated graphics card or an nvidia card...anyway I'm not that desperate either...just felt like trying out some open-sourced linux games xD

Thanks for the help.

Nope it is broken.
Nothing to do with what graphics card you use.
