E17: can't move and resize windows using keyboard

Postby aquarius » Mon Dec 05, 2011 14:02

Hi,

I'm running fully updated E17 x64 spin. I did not added another DE's, there is just E17.
The problem is that I can't neither move nor resize windows using keyboard (and sometimes mouse is not an option).
I added appropriate key bindings. When I invoke them there is some visible garbage in the middle of the window for a fraction of a second, then the garbage disappears. But I can't move (or resize) the window.
The problem is not in keys - the perfectly work with another actions. There is something wrong with move and resize actions :?:

Any ideas what is wrong?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I'm using nvidia drivers, but I doubt it has any effect on the issue.
P.P.S. I suspect this is a bug :eye:

Use the 'resize by' instead of plain 'Resize'. It's in Settings>SettingsPanel>Input>KeyBindings.

I mapped Alt-F9 to 'resize by' and entered -20 0 (shorten width by 20).
Alt-F10 will resize to 20 0, so the window widens.
Alt-F11 will resize vertically by 0 -20.
Alt-F12 will resize vertically by 0 20 (taller).

If you have a maximized window, unmaximize it first. Then knock yourself out with these slick new keyboard moves.

Thank you shedyed for your reply!
I applied the same approach for "move".

Still, I believe that both "resize" and "move" should work. I'll verify the lates daily iso when I will have some more time. And post bug if necessary.

I verified this in daily iso. The problem is clearly present there.
So I posted it as bug.
