S7 locks up on boot

Postby kp2george75 » Sun Jan 22, 2012 0:36

Sabayon-7-64 was downloaded on 10.30.11 and installed from the live DVD for dual booting with Win7 on an HP Pavilion notebook. Immediately after installing, 44 files were made available and were downloaded. Equo and config update were run and the updated system was stable for some time. Then, S7 started to malfunction by not allowing the terminal to be accessed. There was no way to examine files. The rest of S7 ran normally.

Soon after, another 298 files became available and were downloaded, installed, equo and config updated. Without rebooting after this second updating, the terminal problem was solved. However, during rebooting the next day, the computer locked up just before the log-in screen was to appear. The circular cursor in the bottom right of the screen flashed about once per second but could not be moved. Rebooting always stops at this point .

I can obtain the dmesg log but can not find a way to send it for analysis since I cannot reach the internet with S7. I do not have the sabayon-live-tools script installed.

I don't find anyone in the forums having these 2 problems. Can anyone help? Thank you.

You can boot any Sabayon live disc (or any other live Linux disk) to access the Internet.
