Attempting to install Sabayon 7 x86 Gnome on my computer. Hardware specs are as follows:
Motherboard: ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 975
RAM: 8GB (2x 4GB sticks)
Harddrive: Seagate Barracudea ST5000DM002 SATA internal harddrive (500GB)
OS: currently TinyXP (for gaming purposes)
1) Attempt One
When I run the CD under TinyXP, under QEMU, I can make it as far as where it asks you to select an installation location. Nothing shows up in that screen. At the bottom I see a message that says "O device(s) (0 MB) out of 0 device(s) (0 MB) total." The screen shows no partitions show up in that screen. No Windows partitions, no unpartitioned space, nothing.
2) Method Two
If I try and boot from the CD, Sabayon hangs at the "initializing kernel" stage. I've tried both the "Run Sabayon 7" and "Graphical Installation" options.
I've repeated both methods numerous times (just to makee sure it wasn't some weird heisenbug) and I get the same reactions each time. Any suggestions?
