E17 iBar or shelf

Postby Runaway1956 » Sun Dec 18, 2011 9:21

I'm trying to create a custom launcher for the desktop. I can start my app from the command line, or I can open a file manager, navigate to the app, and double click it. But, I don't know how to create a launcher on E17.

I don't much care whether the launcher is located on the desktop, or on a shelf. I just want to click it, and watch the app open.

Any help would be appreciated!

hi there.
There's a nice module called "itask-ng" that looks similar like the macOS-X dock, avant-window-navigator and cairo-dock.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cH9WLrcsrx8
(what you see in the movie on the bottom is Itask-ng)
It's a very versatile, and customizable Dock, easy to add programs, you can place it anywhere on the screen edges, you can make the dock transparent, auto hide, etc....
The package is in the repositories,
Code: Select all
equo install x11-plugins/e_modules-itask-ng-9999

after installing, open up your modules, and select itask-ng
