I was recommended to try Sabayon as a way to get a Gentoo like system without having to wait for compile time.
I also thought I might learn something along the way.
Basically I have a SCSI disk on /dev/sda. I select this for install and everything works but when I reboot I get the "Welcome to Grub" freeze bug.
In order to fix this I have to
modify the configuration of GRUB2 (/etc/default/grub) to uncomment GRUB_TERMINAL=console
But it seems that the rootfs on /dev/sda2 is a lvm filesystem and I can't figure out how to mount it.
Certainly I wouldn't be surprised if I have a buggy BIOs. I would prefer to use Lilo especially since I'm not dual booting.
I'm using the core image.
edit: Also, the X resolution is really low at 640x and ctrl+alt+'keypad +' doesn't change this and editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf hasn't helped yet. I think can't see the whole of the screen with the graphical install. It's a CRT monitor, probably never been tested with this!
