Sabayon 7 KDE installation problems

Postby theburrus1 » Wed Nov 16, 2011 18:33

Hi,t

I cannot time and time again get a successful KDE installation. Anywhere from about the midde to the end of the installation process, I get "An unhadled exception has accured. This is most likely a bug." but it doesn't say anymore but just gives me the options of "ok" which kicks me out of the installer, "Debug" which does nothing that I can tell or "Save" which doesn't make since to save since I have no OS to save to to send it to you guys.I have tried two different isos on two different DVDs and still get it. All other versions of Sabayon can install fine. At 2.2 GB on a slow connection, I cannot afford to download the iso again and again to only get this problem. So for now, since I must have KDE, I will use Open Suse until you can resolve it. Thanks.

So whats the problem, to install KDE on another Sabayon ISO? Likie Gnome, etc? it's only DE. So it's no problem if you can install another DE and doinstall KDE, if this is a problem.

better to not have both gnome and kde on same system. Its not really a problem other than all the gnome menu entries. I would try the coreCDX edition first
