No panels only wallpaper and icons [Solved]

I recently installed Sabayon 7 64 bit Gnome on my Acer 5742g with intel i3 processor and nvidia Geforce GT 420m graphics. On the first boot everything worked fine. but after the restart i see only wallpaper and icons and nothing else. it works fine in the less graphical mode i selected from the system settings. i installed the latest Nvidia drivers and configured x11 with it. still no hope.

Try to get to a console and run:
(as root)

Code: Select all

equo install gdk-pixbuf


to force the gdk-pixbuf package re-installation, reboot to see if it worked.
