An md5 checksummed xfce x86 Daily from Oct 3, using USB install, worked ok on one machine.
On a portable, more recent hardware, the installed system frozes just before login.
I think this is obviously a hardware problem, but the logs seem to show no error at all.
I uploaded most /var/log logs to http://pastebin.sabayon.org/pastie/7232
Froze = Sabayon blue background "Open your source ..." visible. Mouse cursor visible and responsive.
CTRL-ALT-F1 causes the screen to go black.
After which, CTRL-ALT-F7 which normally switches back to GUI I believe, does nothing.
CTRL+ALT+F2 does nothing.
I tried waiting 15 minutes in case it was some strange network seeking timeout issue.
In recovery mode :
su - user (my login)
startxfce4
starts an apparently normal xfce4 session.
Sabayon eselect, lspci (identical in Live CD and installed systems) and uname output is here:
http://pastebin.sabayon.org/pastie/7234
eselect opengl list
is also identical in Live CD and installed systems).
I will run sabayonlive-tools and upload the results soon.
Why would the login not appear? Yet the graphics hardware allow starting xfce4 manually?
