Hello, welcome to the Sabayon Linux Forums

The icon you are clicking on is supposed to run Sabayon into qemu (Virtual Machine), if you don't have qemu installed on Windows I don't think it will work.
You can boot the Sabayon LiveDVD as you would do with any Linux distro, activating the DVD/CD reader boot from your BIOS and rebooting your PC.

The best way to install Sabayon (let's say the safest one) would be the DVD install, however you can still install Sabayon from USB, provided that your BIOS supports USB boot.
You can create a bootable USB using unetbootin:
http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

It has an option to create a LiveUSB from your ISO image.
You should format your USB drive to a FAT32 volume before using unetbootin, pay attention not to delete any valuable data in your USB device doing this procedure.

If you have a Linux partition available, you could use dd to copy the ISO image to your USB device, which would be a safer procedure to create a Sabayon LiveUSB.

@ micia

Now you can install Sabayon On USB-Stick using "dd"

https://www.sabayon.org/release/press-r ... e-and-xfce

Important Fixes
Make possible to boot Sabayon off USB via dd (bug 2685)

Example : if your usb-stick is located ad /dev/sdc

run as root

Code: Select all
dd if=Sabayon_Linux_7_amd64_G.iso of=/dev/sdc

use fdisk -l to locate your usb-disk

I didn't go deep into details because I didn't know if achyuthreddy had a Linux partition :)

However it deserves to be explained since it is a really simple and nice method.

Please, do not notify me about your posts using PMs, I will read and notice your posts anyway since all users are notified about new posts in the topics they are following.

If you ever installed any other Linux distribution, there is no difference.

é You open a CD/DVD burning application

* You burn the ISO to your DVD

* You reboot your PC and turn on the CD/DVD boot in your BIOS settings

* You boot to Sabayon Live DVD

?? winrar files ??

http://na.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/sabayo ... md64_G.iso

or you can choose your prefer mirror downloading iso image at https://www.sabayon.org/download inside "iso" folder

You can also download SL via bit-torrent

then you can burn the ISO image with your favourite burning application you use...

[edit]
@ micia ... oops ... you're right
