Live CD OK. Installed System Freezes Before Login [Solved]

In recovery, #startxfce4 works fine from my user login .. though one or two things missing, such as Network Managerapplet, but that may be because it is a DAILY iso in development.

Any advice on how to understand why I don't get the login screen?

So you now can start normally XFCE right? The new XFCE is very minimalistic, in Mint LMDE you have the same problems. You can install normal packages like:

About login manager, I remember some posts on this forum. I relog later to my XFCE and give you my settings.

Raman, those config files are the same.

I just installed a md5 checksummed Daily from Oct 3 on a different but older machine and it worked fine. On the portable that I was having problems with, I get the same problem.

So the problem is hardware. But where?
I will try and get sabayonlive_tools package on this machine and post the results in the DAILY section of this forum.
