I'm coming back using sabayon since a few months and I was playing Final Fantasy VII on PCSX under Arch. I tried to install PCSX today in my new Sabayon installation but I did not succeed... the package is marked as masked at gentoo portage and at equo/sulfur it simply doesn't appear.
I then unmasked pcsx and its dependecies on /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask
- Code: Select all
#games-emulation/pcsx
games-emulation/epsxe
#games-emulation/psemu-cdriso
#games-emulation/psemu-padjoy
#games-emulation/psemu-padxwin
#games-emulation/psemu-peopssoftgpu
#games-emulation/psemu-peopsspu
and tried to install via emerge but it still fails...
- Code: Select all
sabayon malevolent # emerge pcsx

Calculating dependencies... done!

The following mask changes are necessary to proceed:
#required by games-emulation/psemu-padxwin-1.6, required by games-emulation/pcsx-1.5-r1, required by pcsx (argument)
# /etc/portage/package.mask:
# Joost Ruis: Old as wolfden!
>=x11-libs/gtk+-1.2.10-r12:1
Both pcsx and epsxe fails with the same error on x11-libs/gtk+-1.2.10-r12:1. I have installed the newer versions of gtk+, both 2.24.4 and 3.0.11 but it seems it will not work with these version.
Anyone has got (any) psx emulator work under sabayon/gentoo? I put a ubuntu liveUSB I have at hand and both emulators works nicely (even PCSX2)...
Thank you in advance!
