gogglesmm [Solved]

Hi All,

I just installed sabayon xfce and so far I'm really liking it. I'm using sulfur as the package manager. I've been using gogglesmm as my music manager for years now, it's a great program but it's not in the sabayon repository. I believe that it's in the gentoo sunrise overlay. What would be the best way to get it installed. I know I'm not encouraged to mix entropy with portage, should I just build it from source code? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Why don't you make an Entropy Package Request?

If you can't wait, you can download the gogglesmm ebuild and install it using a local overlay.

I just installed sabayon yesterday and I've been a bit overwhelmed reading documentation on the sabayon site and the gentoo site. Thanks very much for putting that information all in one place, your post was very helpful.

In addition to what svantoviit has written, you also could have installed gogglesmm from the sunrise overlay rather than using a local overlay:

# emerge --sync # Sync ebuilds on your machine with latest ebuilds in Portage repositories.
# emerge -1v git # Install git, as the sabayon overlay uses it.
# emerge -1v subversion # Install subversion, as the sunrise overlay uses it.
# layman -a sabayon # Add the sabayon overlay.
# layman -a sunrise # Add the sunrise overlay.
# emerge -1v gogglesmm # Install gogglesmm
# equo rescue spmsync # Tell Entropy what you did via Portage.
