Sabayon 6 wifi issue

Postby dhd1 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 17:23

Have just installed Sabayon 6 KDE 64bit. All went well but I have a problem with the wifi. I can click on my connection and enter the router password but nothing happens. it is not even trying to connect. I have tried rebooting several times but still the same happens. When i click on my connection, the password field is blank again so my password is not being saved either. Have used sabayon before and this has never happened. Wifi is Intel 4965agn

Please post the output of the following commands, issued as root user in a Konsole/Terminal window:

lspci
lsmod
iwconfig
ifconfig

Also check if you have the package iwl4965-ucode installed. If not, install it and reboot.

I'm moving this to the Networking and Wireless shed (forum), as it's probably going to get more response in there.

Same behaviour with Sabayon KDE and intel3945abg since 4.2...  Bad KNetworkManager... :x There's always something wrong with wireless protected connections and NetworkManager. Here, SL6 KDE x86_64, the problem is that I must add wireless points from "systemsettings-> network settings"... Bah... :|
