Sabayon 6 G USB Persistence

Postby anchor1te » Sat Jul 09, 2011 4:24

Hola,

I have followed the steps to install with persistence on USB, and am receiving No Operating System error on bootup. The steps were for 3.5, and was hoping there may be a updated process.

I have realized I was wasting time on *buntus, and would love to get Sabayon back!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi anchorite!
Did you set a boot flag on your USB?

Yep, not sure if I messed up one of the steps. Going to try and redo it, and I'll give an update.

Is there a way to use xsistence on a live usb? On the wiki, it says just created xsistence-mode and change boot options. I've tried a couple of times, and xsistence is never found.

Thanks!

Hi!
Sorry, I only can say, that Mint persistent works (with its own creator).
Maybe tomorrow I could try SL persistence.

With the commands of the Howto
# fdisk /dev/sdb
d

n
...
83
a

w

I deed not succed in preparing USB for formatting.
(BTW: with GParted - available on Gnome distris or on PartedMagic live - it is easier).
Sorry, but I don' t see how to help.

No problem. I'm going to try a few different things to see if I can get it working. I will post update and steps if I'm successful.

Thanks!
