Intel PRO/Wireless 5100AGN weird problem with 2.6.39

Postby iservnet » Sat Jul 02, 2011 8:44

I have an Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 5100AGN wireless network on a laptop. Installed 2.6.39. Done all the usual kernel checks and updates. Restarted, the wireless connects fine to a Netgear router, but after 30 secs the Netgear's LAN becomes corrupted and no computers can use the wireless of the Netgear. So with kernel 2.6.39 it is causing the wireless on the Netgear connection to become corrupted. I have to hard reboot the Netgear to get the wireless working.

Switch to 2.6.38 and all is well. Weird.

Anyone experience this?

My Thinkpad also uses the Intel PRO/Wireless 5100AGN but I am running Sabayon 6 with the 2.6.37 kernel.
No problems here as you say.
So thanks for the heads up. I for one will now wait before I venture beyond 2.6.38..
Criticism accepted for Solutions that work. ;^)

Hi!
There is a protocol "dmesg" - maybe you 'll find a hint in the last lines (it could be hundreds of lines):
Terminal/ Konsole:
Code: Select all
dmesg
