And how can I know which version I'm running?
I have installed Sabayon 4.something more than two years ago and keep upgrading it ever since so I'm pretty sure I've got the 6.0 with the latest update, but how can I check the version, anyone?

if you have no updates left, you're on Sabayon 6. Just consider upgrading your kernel if you are really interested in that (use kernel-switcher, search on wiki).

My kernel also has been upgraded via Entropy recently from 2.6.35 to 2.6.37, so I'm pretty sure it'll be 2.6.39 one day soon, but still it would be great to have a command that would echo out something like "You're running Sabayon 6.0! Yo-hooo!!!" Just to impress my colleagues.

Try to check if you have the /etc/sabayon-release file, if there is (and there should be), you can use this:
