I can't install anything !

Postby dysoco » Tue Jun 14, 2011 16:15

Hi.
I will be fast and clear.

I tried Sabayon_amd64_G and Sabayon_amd64_K for Releases.

And then Sabayon_x86_K for Daily Release.

But I can't install none of them, Anaconda just crash while searching for HDD to install.

you do that first sabayon installer update?

if is an anaconda related problem no need to test different sabayon spin-offs, until this anaconda crash is sorted out use only one iso image and stop downloading so many ISO variants is useless all iso spins use latest anaconda version available in sabayon online repository IF you correctly follow wiki.sabayon.org - Visual Tour: Installing Sabayon Linux KDE4

in that visual tour the second step is that required anacoda update

and if we can jump over this step and sabayon linux installer is still crashing maybe is time to put here some anaconda crash logs and so on to see what is going on ...

are you trying to create or alter partition sizes during install ? this causes crashes for me on occasion. i found i create the partitions first, then run the live dvd's to install. use the windows partitioning tools, or the kde partition manager which is on some live dvd's, gparted or something like that.

edit* basically you want to create the primary and or extended partitions first, then run the install to those partitions you created else where. LVM's will still work, just create a primary partition first to install to.

if you have more trouble or questions post some extra details on your layout.
