Is there a near 5.6 release?

Postby speedyx » Sun May 22, 2011 6:01

Too many updates just after the installation of 5.5, K or G, including gcc. Is there plans for a 5.6 release before the 6 of july?

Thanks, but I ask for a fresh install live medium. The Daily is sometimes unusable in my experience.

I would prefer waiting for KDE 4.7/GNOME 3.0.2 before making a new release.

And too long to perform. If the update/upgrade process must be done then the install is about several hours, more like an overnight process. I greatly admire the work done at SL, have used it longer than any other distros, and have donated to the project but the 5x series have been the most problematic editions I have used. For all my hardware none is of any gaming caliber but all are newer than the Pentium 4 days. Only the laptop have 2gb of RAM, the main box have 8gb and the test box have 4gb. All installed smoothly, including the compiz desktop, and ran with no hiccups, until the 5x, then I began to receive more problems after the required update/upgrade process.

The solution can be a usable daily or weekly or monthly release that have an installer that works. This is the only issues I had with some daily.
To spread the Sabayon word, we must make a good impression with new fresh installations! :D
