vboxdrv Error 2 [Solved]

Hello Sabayon community. I have just recently migrated from Ubuntu to Sabayon and I've gotten just about everything I need working except for virtualbox. When I try to do the initial launch of my virtual machine I get the following error

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is either not loaded or there is a permission problem with /dev/vboxdrv. Please reinstall the kernel module by executing

'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'

as root. Users of Ubuntu, Fedora or Mandriva should install the DKMS package first. This package keeps track of Linux kernel changes and recompiles the vboxdrv kernel module if necessary.

when I try to run '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' in the terminal it says

* Stopping VirtualBox kernel modules ... [ ok ]
* Uninstalling old VirtualBox DKMS kernel modules ...
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: line 293: /var/log/vbox-install.log: Permission deni [ !! ]
* Trying to register the VirtualBox kernel modules using DKMS ...
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: line 311: /var/log/vbox-install.log: Permission denied
* Failed, trying without DKMS
* Recompiling VirtualBox kernel modules ...
/etc/init.d/vboxdrv: line 315: /var/log/vbox-install.log: Permission denied
* Look at /var/log/vbox-install.log to find out what went wrong

in my vbox-install.log it says

make KBUILD_VERBOSE=1 SUBDIRS=/tmp/vbox.0 SRCROOT=/tmp/vbox.0 -C /lib/modules/2.6.37-sabayon/build modules

make[1]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/src/linux-2.6.37-sabayon/arch/x86/Makefile'. Stop.
make: *** [vboxdrv] Error 2

If anyone can offer any suggestions or is familiar with this error I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance. ^_^

From the wiki (HOWTO: Using Virtualbox):

...After this you must log out and log in, otherwise you'll get "Permission denied" error if you try to run "VirtualBox" command.

I'm sorry for taking soooo long to respond. I've been busy with finals and starting a new job this passed week. Sorry about that. I'm pleased to announce that after purging Virtualbox and reinstalling it with the above procedure it is now working like a charm : ) thanks for the idea svantoviit. I hope everyone has a great summer and I don't have to ask too many more noobish questions on here.
