Writting drivers for Sabayon..

Postby jprohner » Tue Nov 21, 2006 4:58

s here a SDK form to write hadware drivers for Linux.
Like the MS SDK to guide structure.

I want to add some special functionality, Audio, Video and home controls, to the OS.
Actually I want to port some I did from MS to Linux. (Home automation controls).

Thank you

Sabayon Linux uses Linux kernel 2.6 (http://www.kernel.org).
For a kernel SDK see here:

Thank You for the pointers.
Got the DDKs and started the study and "retraining".

One small comment. When I install Sabayon it nicely uses the ATI driver, built in video,
but it uses some very high screen resolution, so you gotta do a "by guess and
by golly" reset to get it back down to 1280x1024. Did I miss a install switch
or is it just a quirk?

I is a fun system tho.
Now if I can just find where to set the network controller, it missed it, I will be up and flying.

Thanks for your help and attitude.
Good to find friendlies.
