Which are your favorite songs from anime, films or games?

This topic has nothing to do with Linux or Sabayon, but only with my curiosity.
Being a big fan of anime and videogames since my childhood, I found myself listening and appreciating the artistic value of the background music and songs from anime openings/endings and from videogames... So, in this topic I would like to know if someone here shares this interest and which are your favorite musics from anime, films, or videogames.
Here are my own:

Films
there is no song from film that I like particularly...

I love Max Payne's theme so much, it just sum up all the atmosphere of the game so well.
I like the first one the most, because the choice of the piano is better in my opinion.
The Metal Gear theme... It gets you so in the mood of escaping and hiding, it is just perfect

That's just awesome :D
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to listen to it

very beautiful thread...
I listened metal up to more than 25 years old, then I started to wander up to the Jazz and Ambient (I'll stop somewhere?).

About the games Machinarium recently impressed me a lot (favorites order):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvDvawzJ ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjFerxQe ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Bc55iPbiA0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hZeSva8 ... re=related (unpublished)

Doom3 I love it ... Nine Inch Nails they also done a cover?
I like to strum the bass guitar, but I'll spare you my performance in favor of:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kg-VmvNM ... re=related

About the films why not to mention the wonderful works of Ennio Morricone and some of Philip Glass.

Returning to the metal; I discovered Tool band (one of my favorite) thanks to "Escape From Los Angeles" movie by Carpenter (it was 1996)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hglVqACd1C8&feature

However, it will be very questionable, but I guessed it seemed the theme and remix the film (saga) "The Bourne Identity" ... The original song is by Moby.

Many many others... but now I must listen all your proposals :D

Bye

Speaking about trailers and suggestions... I watched the entire anime, but I could go on watching this trailer forever and the soundtrack is just superb:
EF - a tale of memories prologue, if you have not already watched this anime, just repent and do it

@sabayonino: Planetes is great, I like how they turned an apparently boring concept to a very interesting anime, by the way, its opening was also pretty good:

If you like the metal genre, Daisuke Ishiwatari could catch on you too :P
I suggest you to listen some of its musics, I listed 4 of them in my first post, from BlazBlue and Guilty Gear X, but I could go on forever, I love them all :D

At this point, I must improve my anime culture!
Guilty Gear X music theme reminds me old school "speed metal".

I just want to add this with regard to the games section ... guess what!

... Hayao Miyazaki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayao_Miyazaki

He is a great Director and StoryBoarder

He has produced good "Animes" who are accompanied by excellent and evocative soundtracks

for me is one of the best anime directors in the world (I think the only one)

see also "Studio Ghibli" ...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studio_Ghibli
