No network after yesterday update [Solved]

Did a normal update yesterday via sulfur(25 packages). Now my internet-connection seems to be blocked/lost. nm-applet shows that eth0 is activ, but I have no real access to the www. ping gives me same result. nothing comes through. firewall is deactivated.
Yesterday two files were merged, both had something to do with policies. Maybe there is the key?....

I had the same problem. Updated my 64bit and switched off for the night, next morning nothing.
Tried hard for a couple of hours. A connection was active to the router, a ping to the router was successful but no connection any further. Tried with no firewall, etc etc. Eventually created another user(demo), logged in as demo, setup the network connection and it worked straight away. The same connection, same address, eth0. Logged out and then back in to my account and all was again working.

Click on panel networking connections click on auto etho (if that is what you have) this will re-connect network. Worked for me. Still definite problem with the upgrade.

Ok, I'm on it, it looks like /etc/resolv.conf is not written.

Could you try to:

mv /etc/resolv.conf /etc/old.resolv.conf

and reboot?

That did nothing, after reboot still have to re-connect for network access.

Ok, could you try to use Portage and revert to =net-dns/openresolv-3.3.4-r1 ?
